Facebook Messenger for Android received update adding free calls, conversation shortcuts and more

The Android version of Messenger has just received an update to version 4.0 and one of significant new features is the ability to crowd your friends into groups and then pin these groups to a restricted Groups tab, so you can instantly send content to the selected people all at once. You can now also attach a shortcut to one group or conversation right from your Android home screen, giving you the option to open up a front floating chat with a single tap, without navigating through the application. Another new feature is free calls over Wi-Fi connection that let  you talk as long as you want and stay in touch with your friend.

Download the Facebook Messenger update for your Android device from Google Play Store, to enjoy all its new features.

The required Android varies on the devices.
